Answers to the following questions should be in respect of SAILING VESSELS.

Minor problems Skippers should be competent to deal with minor problems which may occur on yachts from time to time (for instance replacing an alternator belt) and should also be capable of such tasks as checking oil and battery levels and monitoring engine performance and temperature. We do not expect you to be a mechanical or electrical engineer - but we do expect that you are able to carry out basic tasks.
